Cannot export VDR on Android was created by cameronag
Hello, everyone.
I am new to QtVlm and I find it to be extremely powerful. I have a problem when trying to export a VDR to a CSV file. I can activate the drop-down "Action" menu under Boat... Voyage Data Recorder but when I click "Export CSV" nothing happens. The drop-down menu disappears but there is no prompt for a file name and no file is created. I can usually "save as" but this just creates a .db (sqlite?) copy of the current vdr and doesn't make the data available to other programs like spreadsheets.
Am I doing something wrong, have I missed some configuration somewhere, or has the Android environment changed somehow to prevent exporting?

Hi,
There is an option in qtVlm general settings that says "Automatically open exported files". If this is checked, Android will prompt you with a list of compatible apps for this file, in this case for instance Excel since it is a csv file.
The file itself is created in qtVlm sandbox, i.e. /Android/data/org.meltemus.qtvlm/files; where you can find it with Files or Amaze, or with a PC with the device connected to it (depending on your Android version).
That being said next version due very soon will have an option to automatically copy exported files in Documents.
